curiosity may have killed the cat but “it” along with “need” is the mother of invention. Observing, a passion for learning, creativity with a dash of quirkiness, and continuously asking the question, “Is there a better way?” has driven innovation.

Fun fact: The drawing above has absolutely nothing to do with my work experience but I had to find a place to include the illustration I created of my other “passion,” my English bulldog Phoebe.

nike  Is there a better way? Asking this question is how I have lived my career — from the very beginning, and as far back as my senior year in high school as a Fremont Featherette. Marketing has been instinctual and an enormous part my thought process as is demonstrated in this letter to the Nike Corporation I had written at 17 years of age.

Fun fact: The Featherette seated in the center of the group photo on the right, is the actress Teri Hatcher of the TV series Desperate Housewives.

Fun fact: The male model in the three photos above is Brian Wimmer who left modeling to become an actor and was the star of the TV series China Beach.

advertising  During my college years, my initial interest in advertising became piqued during a college internship and while modeling for Helen of Troy and Farrah Slacks. I was drawn to the creative “hub bub” taking place on the other end of the camera and behind the scenes, and began integrating myself into the art direction of photo shoots and rubbing elbows with Creative Directors, Photographers, and Graphic Designers. I studied the composite drawings from my shoots and asked questions about the initial concepts and overall advertising goals. While on location, I decided to leave the University where I was studying marketing, to relocate to another school to study advertising and graphic design.

experience  Today my experience lies in marketing and brand building, as well as managing teams of creative and technical professionals.

Having high standards in all realms is what I live by both in my professional and personal life, and the result is a level of ultimate fulfillment and pride in what I do and in the final product.

My experience has been in traditional and high tech advertising, recruitment advertising developing Employee Referral Programs, and design firms; working in-house as well as contracting for over 20 years. My current projects include strategic “re-modeling” — building creative teams consisting of digital marketing specialists, web designers and developers, graphic designers, and illustrators to name a few.

Fun fact: The image above is my first resumé and “promotional” piece I created to send to prospective agencies. I had little to no experience, as you can tell, but was lucky enough to receive my first internship at a high-end graphic and interior design firm which launched my career.
